Check out these nice pieces by set designer and illustrator Chrissie Macdonald.
I spotted these French gentleman’s magazines from the ’30s – ’40s at a photoshoot today. Great type/photography references!
Make sure you check out all the images. I had a tough time making selections.
They Draw and Cook posted a recipe/illustration of mine on Friday. If you’re into cooking I highly recommend trying it – it’s very simple, but impressive.
Check out the version on their blog (the images are a bit bigger and more legible).
It’s official- Sam’s app has hit the app store!
Rodentdraw allows you to ‘draw’ rodents into your favorite photos/compositions, and even Rodentify your friends (who doesn’t want to see themselves with ears and a tail?). In addition to Sam’s amazing programming/designing, I contributed some branding/UI to the app – namely the logo and icons. Check out those things, and even an alternate version of the logo (my preferred) in the images below. And of course, his app is available for purchase here.
Some nice illustrations from Sergey Sbss (no, apparently not a typo) from Moscow, Russia.
Ok, so I usually don’t blog about my job, but in this case I’ll make an exception.
Landor recently posted this little time capsule on Vimeo. It’s a movie made in the ’60s detailing the start-to-finish process of several designs for Old Fitzgerald whiskey. While our design process is totally different today, and we are no longer on the Klamath, the infamous retired ferry boat/first Landor headquarters, it’s still really interesting to watch. The Madmen similarities are uncanny: piles of cigarettes, and drinking on the job. Definitely worth checking out.
Some photos from our walk through the new Roombeek. In addition to the TwentseWelle museum, there are many other cultural attractions in this neighborhood including artist galleries in the Rozendaal (the same complex as the museum), other museums like the Rijksmuseum Twente and countless architectural wonders.
